Honor V10 Getting “Party Mode” to Connect Phones via NFC for Simultaneous Music Playback

The Honor V10 (aka View 10) is a smartphone we’ve had our eye on for quite some time. After rumors began circulated about it last year, Huawei officially unveiled it China in November 2017. It comes with top-tier hardware including the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 970 system-on-chip, 6GB of RAM, a 5.99-inch HD+ LCD panel, and a 3,750mAh battery. Since its debut, it’s gotten a few software updates, and we’ve learned from a changelog that it’ll soon get a nifty new feature called Party Mode and an update to Game Suite in an over-the-air upgrade.

Party Mode is an application that will allow you to connect several Honor V10 phones together using NFC. Once it’s set up, you’ll be able to play the same song simultaneously across devices.

Also new is a network optimization feature in the Game Suite app. It’s a third-party paid service that’s available with offers “exclusive to Honor V10 users,” according to Huawei.

Along with the new Party Mode and Game Suite features, the upcoming firmware optimizes the sensitivity of the screen when you use your knuckles to take a screenshot or record a video clip, and improves overall system stability.

It was only last week we wrote about the Honor V10’s latest software update. It brought facial recognition to the flagship smartphone, which works impressively quickly even at different angles and distances. Another feature included in the firmware, Smart Rotate, uses your face instead of the device’s orientation to determine if the screen should rotate or not. And the new Intelligent Screen On feature detects when your eyes are looking at the screen and automatically suspends the screen timeout and dim triggers.

We hope that Party Mode and Game Suite come to other Honor and Huawei devices, but we’ll have to wait and see. We’ll keep you updated on any new updates to Honor or Huawei devices that we come across.
